About
Whether you’re here by design or have come upon A Malaysian Kitchen by chance, hello and welcome!
A Malaysian Kitchen was initially thought up as a recipe depository for the dishes I most often cook but cannot for the life of me remember in my dotage (or perhaps because of Covid, or both), what goes in when and how much. Like Dal Tadka.
Then it also became a place to jot down things that I’ve had to come up with from scratch on my own such as the curry powder for Malaysian Chicken and Potato Curry as living in a small, medieval village in Switzerland is not the most accommodating of places when a yearning strikes you for such foods.
But then it also became perfect for passing on the family’s favourite dishes when The Child asked again for the umpteenth time the recipe for Special Soy Sauce Chicken from 1987 that I’d got from the Sunday Morning South China Post.
So if you’ve stopped by, do say hello whether you’re family, friend or someone we’re yet to know. Especially if you try one of my recipes, I’d love to know how you got on.
